MAC Archie's Girls Ronnie Red, Betty Bright and Strawberry Malt

Hi beauty lovers! Today, the Archie's Girls collection from MAC finally launched in stores. I'd been waiting for this for so long it seemed! Unfortunately, I couldn't afford much. My daughers' birthdays are this season, and this usually breaks the bank for me. :) I did however show up at my nearest MAC counter at 10am this morning, and there was already a small crowd of ladies gathered around the Archie's Girls collection, swatching away!

I picked up Ronnie Red Lipstick and Strawberry Malt Lipglass from Veronica's half of the collection and Betty Bright Lipstick from Betty's half.

Ronnie Red is Matte, and is a beautiful pinkish red shade. MAC's website describes it as "Bright Red". I wore it for hours today and it didn't dry my lips out in the least. I just love it!

Strawberry Malt lipglass is also a beautiful pinkish red shade. It is nearly opaque and looks gorgeous over the Ronnie Red lipstick, though it is also beautiful on it's own.

Betty Bright is a Lustre, and it just isn't for me. I know the internet is full of ladies who adore this shade, but it totally washed my face out and looked horrid. The arm swatch looks nice, but on my lips...dear god, no. I also felt the colour and consistency accentuated the lines in my lips. Just a big no for me. I may try to exchange this in store, otherwise I'll pass it on to someone who likes it.

I did take some pics of my lips, but I felt they didn't accurately represent how the colours look on me, so I won't share those. Here's some swatches though. The first in natural light, and the second using flash.

Have or do you plan on purchasing anything from this collection? Please share with me if you have and what your thoughts are! There was so much more I wanted, and I'd love to hear some other opinions!

If you plan on purchasing from this collection, don't take your time! Apparently it's expected to go very quickly, and I know some of the collection is already sold out at MAC online.

Thanks so much for reading! :)

    1. It is super pigmented, Steph! I think it's going to be one of my new faves. :) And I adore the packaging too. At first I thought it was a little childish looking, but it won me over. :)

  2. They all look lovely :) I wanted the betty bright too but was kind of skeptical because I dont think I can do light pinks very well. How much were the lipsticks? I need to get at least one they are so cute! Either that or a palette, but those are super expensive.

    1. Thanks, Michelle! :) The lipsticks are $20 each and same with the lipglasses. I should have mentioned that in my post. :P And I was really hoping the Betty Bright would work for me. I thought it would be a beautiful colour for spring. It probably would suit you, though. I've read so many reviews, and I seem to be the only that doesn't love it. I want the palettes as well! Wish I was rich! :)

    1. Thanks, Angela! I can't believe how quickly the whole collection sold out. I was shocked when I was at a MAC counter this week and they still had both eyeshadow quads left!

I just took a quick peek at your blog, and Mall Madness looks gorgeous! Can't wait to read the post. :)
