CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 review

It's a blizzardy day here in my hometown, and I'm just blogging from my daughter's hockey game! :) I'm always on the hunt for the perfect foundation for my oily skin. Lately I've been using Estee Lauder's Double Wear, but I've been unhappy with the colour matches. I did a little online research and saw a lot of ladies raving about CoverGirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 foundation, and despite my hesitation, I picked some up to try out.

Hehe, my kitty loved this stuff :)

I was shocked! To be honest, I don't think I have one other piece of CoverGirl in my current stash, and I haven't tried one of their foundations in years. I'm pretty sure as a teen, I used one of their old foundations, but since then I have had zero interest in any CoverGirl products.

Until now.

First off, I was very happy with the colour selection. I tested a few on the back of my hand and my jawline, and the shade I purchased was an absolutely perfect match - 932 Nude Beige.

This foundation comes in a 30 ml bottle with a pump! Yay! Estee Lauder Double Wear doesn't have a pump, and neither did Revlon ColorStay; which I had also been using previously. It also contains SPF 20, which some people might love. I prefer to apply sunscreen before foundation, and I prefer not to wear any sunscreen for a night out.

The bottle says: Lasting power of primer, coverage of a concealer, and blendability of a foundation in one. Shine Free.

While testing it, I applied it without a primer or concealer. In the future, I would definitely use a primer as well. My pores are just too big to go without. I found the coverage was very good as it covered some pesky red bumps that just popped up (possibly dermatits), and it did make my pores appear a bit smaller. I do find it quite matte, but I did dust with a setting powder. My skin is too crazy oily to go without powder. I've been wearing it today without a setting powder, and I can see some shine, but it's nothing terrible.

Here's a before and after taken today without any primer, concealer or setting powder. I couldn't replicate the lighting for both pics, but I wanted to show the coverage. Sorry for disgusting pores! :P

And here it is applied on my arm:

Overall, I'm very pleased with this product! I find it comparable to Double Wear, and I find it leaves me more matte than ColorStay ever did. I read that Estee Lauder will be coming out with more shades in the near future, so until then, I will happily continue using this! I'll be sure to update if it causes any skin reactions as well.

This product cost me $12.99 at my local Superstore (though I'm sure you could shop around for better deals). A serious steal if you ask me! I'd definitely recommend this to anyone else with oily skin!

Hope everyone's having a great weekend! Thanks for reading :).

  1. WOW!! What a difference! The coverage is amazing! :)

I'm sorry, but you can't go wrong with that price. I have an oil of olay and covergirl primer that we should both try. I haven't opened it yet! Worth a shot, I suppose!

Great review, anyways...looks like Franky wants to put some of that on too! lol

  9. This seems like something I would definitely like to try, although I must admit the price is a little higher than my Rimmel perfect match foundation which I'm currently using (it costs around $5 or $6.) But, I really like that this Covergirl one has a pump - my Rimmel one doesn't and it's quite annoying, haha.

    1. Yes, the pump is amazing! I don't think I've ever purchased a drugstore foundation that had a pump, so this was a major bonus! I wonder if the Rimmel one would work for oily skin...great price! Thanks for stopping by, Victoria! :)

  14. I have been meaning to pick this up! I have combo normal/oily skin, but I absolutely hate how I always get shiny on my forehead. Even with colorstay, I would still get slightly oily by the end of the day. I really want to try this one out especially since it worked for you. Do you happen to know your shade in mac? I don't know what shade to get. I'm an NC20-25, would the Nude Beige work?

    1. I think I'm NC25-ish! So the Nude Beige might work for you. I was looking at that one and another that was slightly lighter. I can't recall the name of that one (possibly Buff Beige), but I think one of the two would definitely work for you! I have the same problem, except I'm also oily on and around my nose. It's terrible. I did find that this kept me more matte than Colorstay, though! :)

  15. Wow that did a really good job of evening things out! I have been using Loreal's True Match and it's great:)
